    Hardscape, softscape and lighting for a new home on a 12,000 square foot lot in carmel valley.

    This is the second home I have owned and we completely renovated the first one so I have hired a lot of contractors.

    Virgil is by far the best contractor I have ever hired.

    Our landscaping is beautiful and the cost was less than the other bids we recieved ($50,000-60,000). His bid was also far more detailed and he was the only one to give us a detailed computer generated design plan (which he also provided within a couple of days as opposed to a week or more).

    He broke the price down to every detail and worked within our budget by lowering his price a few thousand dollars. He did not ask for any money up front for materials unlike the other 2 landscapers we interviewed. He always answers his cell phone or calls back within an hour. He does a lot of the work himself and visited the site daily. His crew cleans up after themselves at the end of the day.

    He is a perfectionist and made sure we were happy with every detail of the work and addressed every concern without hesitation or resistance.

    Some of the work was more involved than he originally planned but he reassured us that his price would only change if we made major changes in the plan. I am hiring him to maintain our landscaping. He also does general contracting / pools and I plan to hire him again to add a couple of outdoor fireplaces when my budget allows.
